As much as I love traveling to new places, there's nothing I love more than to play tourist in my own city. It always amazes me how much Atlanta has to offer; and since Ruben and I are going to be here for at least a few more years, we have a lot of time to explore every nook and cranny of this city! In my opinion, The Varsity is one of those places you must check out in Atlanta, whether you've been living in the city your whole life or you're here for just a few days. So, what is it that makes The Varsity so special? Well, it just so happens that The Varsity is the largest drive-in restaurant in the world! And considering the fact that it's been around since 1928, clearly they must be doing something right!
While Ruben and I were very tempted to stay in our car and have a traditional drive-in dining experience, we ate inside the restaurant instead to check out the vibe. (AKA I don't like crumbs in my car.) We tried an assortment of foodie goodies, like the Chili Slaw Dog, Chili Cheese Dog, Hamburger, and the oh-so-addicting-can't-stop eating Onion Rings.
A must-do when eating at The Varsity for the first time: wear the Varsity hats!
We also tried the Fried Peach Pie, which to be totally honest, would've tasted a lot better if it had that onion ring batter around it. That's how good those onion rings were!
Have you ever eaten at The Varsity? What do you like to order?
