Our 4th of July this year was, to say the least, a bit uneventful. The original plan was to spend the day at Centennial Olympic Park and watch the fireworks show, but it rained, and rained, AND RAINED. ALL DAY LONG. Ruben and I considered toughing it out in the rain, but ultimately, we decided against it and ended up sleeping for most of the day, ordering Chinese food, and watching a Walking Dead marathon in black and white.
We at least made it out to Olmsted for brunch, which got me pretty excited--it was the very first time going out to brunch since we've moved here, and that was over a year ago!
I really loved that Olmsted had "bottomless" Mimosas and Bloody Marys--such a genius concept!
I was a bit surprised, however, to see that their brunch menu had a lot less choices than what I saw on their website. There were probably only a couple of things that really appealed to us, the Eggs Olmsted (kind of like Eggs Benedict) and the Shrimp & Grits. It was my very first time eating Shrimp & Grits (ever!) and I thought it was perfect!
Even though our day didn't go exactly as planned, I'm just glad that Ruben actually got the day off and that I got to spend a little bit of time with him. Here's to a sunny 4th of July next year!
Have you ever had brunch at Olmsted? Where are some places you like to frequent for brunch in Atlanta?
